If the last reward you get is xp, then your drops will not show. You can easily correct this by feeding your pet again until you get a reward that is not xp. I'm not sure why you put off Mount Olympus, that gear will carry you through level 50 and is easier than Barkingham. Plus, I'm not sure the Palace gear is that much better - it certainly has a lower drop rate than Olympus gear.
