The best weapon is the one you enjoy using. The mace is not a bad strength weapon. Can't go wrong with a Longsword. With three innate damage types (Physical, Magical, Lightning), an S DEX scaling, and an insane counter strength of 140, you definitely don’t want to be on the wrong end of this blade. There are strong pve weapons like the Rapier (or any thrusting sword), the Maces and Greathammers, or the Red Iron Twinblade.
