I noticed that if one of my friends was going through the quest the first time, we were not able to join, even after he fired his SOS flare. After he left the quest and remade, we were able to join as usual. Pretty annoying bug. Makes the gaming experience a little sour.No passcode needed. It should be on the options tab. search in the options, you can disable automatic join and put it so you have to accept if someone wants to join. I always create a new session, and set it to private.
