Sep 23, 2009 · Urgently need to bypass fuel cutoff solenoid. I have an early '94 F-700 Ford ex- Ryder moving truck that came from the factory with a 12 valve Cummins with the "Good" inline pump. It's been sitting for about three years and I finally got it running last night only to have the fuel cutoff solenoid literally go up in smoke and kill the engine. I changed the #1 & 2 fuel filters and so far so good. I believe it was the cheesy Napa part #3406 fuel filter. The drain at the bottom just didn't feel right. When I changed them last, I checked and thought that it was odd for the drain to not completely tighten.

Dec 22, 2019 · Testing a shut off solenoid on this CAT Diesel 6 cylinder engine. The FSS opens and closes the fuel arm, cutting fuel to the pump so the truck turns off. Without the solenoid, you have to manually close the fuel arm. I'm tired of popping the hood to shut off the truck hahaha. Ghost is right, the above set up kills the truck.
