The bachelor of arts (BA) in biology is the newest degree offering from the Department of Biological Sciences. We created this degree to meet the needs of students who want a solid foundation in the life sciences but also plan to pursue extensive studies in a second, complementary discipline outside of the life sciences. Our bachelor of arts degree option trains students to teach or provides the foundation of a health-related career path. The bachelor of science option is ideal for students looking to pursue advanced graduate or professional degrees within the areas of biotechnology, molecular biology, biomedical research, microbiology and medicine.
