The School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography is a nationally accredited 18-month program that trains students in a wide range of sonography specialty areas, including abdominal, obstetrical/gynecological, and vascular ultrasound.This is a 21-month certificate program in which students spend 30 to 40 hours each week dividing time between didactic course work and hands-on clinical applications. Students in the program benefit from the wide variety of diagnostic examinations conducted at The University of Kansas Health System and affiliated clinical sites.
